What if I told you you could make two batches of moi moi and one batch would be double the calories of the other?
The way meals are cooked and ingredient used can affect calories in the meals drastically. There is no average calorie formula for Nigerian food, guessing doesn’t work because recipes are so vast and different.
This is why every single LIN Plan has original recipes with carefully selected ingredients for appropriate calorie/macros content.
Below is a quick example of how you could easily double calories in moi moi. (See video below)

- Beans – 1 Cup
- Red Bell Peppers – 2
- Onion – 1

Cal Per Wrap | 229 | 121 |
As you can see from this breakdown, unless you cook the food following a recipe you never know if you are eating moimoi A or B, to add to that most wraps have different sizes too. one could make a wrap that is twice the size of the one we have presented above. There is no “Standard portion” size.
This is the detail that goes into every single LIN Recipe.
Not a fan of math? Simply get a LIN plan at loseitnigerian.com/store cook and eat. No math required :)
This calculation is wrong, how is 4 eggs 140, you either use medium egg for 60cal or large for 70 and extra large for 80 etc
Hi Toyin, if you watched the video, raw egg is added to the mix – 80 ish calories. 1/4 boiled egg is added to each of the 7 portions. 20 cal x 7 = 140. Hope that helps. It doesn’t say 4 boiled eggs is 140 calories :)
Thank you so much for this. Can I add tuna in mine as it is less in calories
