Every now and again, I come across people who are so committed to transforming themselves that it blows my mind. Seyi is a warrior, her dedication and commitment is so admirable that I am too excited to share her progress with you.

Like I have mentioned in all the Lose It Nigerian success stories shared, Nigerian food doesn’t make you fat, not cooking or eating the right amount of food for your body type is what makes you fat. This fact is what I hope my weight-loss meal plan Lose It Nigerian proves to Nigerians, our food is not bad for you! No matter how much weight you need to lose, a simple change in your diet is often what is needed, weight loss is 80% what you eat.

If you have been looking for a sign or  inspiration to change your life. This is it! being overweight isn’t just about the way you look. There are many medical implications from infertility to heart diseased to diabetes. Take small steps to preserve your health for people you care about.

If you are a novice to healthy eating, I highly recommend trying one of the Lose It Nigerian challenges where everything you need is provided to you.  All you need do is cook using locally available ingredients and eat.

Here is a LIN feedback I received this week which totally blew my mind. 25kg loss using the LIN recipe book! that’s the weight of a 4 year old! imagine how free one must be shedding that much excess fat. Just wow.

I had a quick chat with Seyi about her progress, read and be inspired!

Tell us a little about yourself. Where you live, what you do

My name is Oluwaseyi Ogunyemi, I live in Lagos Nigeria . I am a Sales person and a sucker for good food.

Tell us about the journey that brought you this far. Did you always struggle with your weight or is it a result of a life event

My Journey has been worth every effort, though it took me a while to get it right. Like I said , I love food!! In my University days, I recall eating even through the nights in an effort to stay awake during exams. Before I could tell, eating late became a bad habit; this lead to massive weight gain .

How long have you been on this journey and how much weight have you lost?

I have been on the journey since late 2014 and I have lost over 19kg

What types of diets did you try in the past? How did you find them?

Starvation and slimming teas!!!  And  I have also tried excessive exercise, I say excessive because I was practically living in the gym at some point working out mornings and evenings every day

How would you say your diet needs are different as a Nigerian?

As  Yoruba girl (geh), I am mostly used to swallow and soups , a day without eating some type of soup would naturally feel like punishment. So asking that I live on teas, supplements, fruits and veges for weight loss make me feel highly deprived.

What has been your experience on the Lose It Nigerian Meal Plan?

To be honest, I decided to try LIN when I got tired of my exercise routine that didn’t give much result.  On my old routine of rigorous exercise I’d sometimes see higher figures on the scale, despite the die-hard gym life!  I was frustrated !!! On LIN I discovered  weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise.  Since joining the program LIN has been my 80% focus and I have since made encouraging progress with my weightloss.

What is the one advice you have for anyone on the weight-loss journey?

See this as not just a weight loss journey but a good investment in your health, love your body and give it the best treatment.
