Nigerian Weightloss Success Story – Biola’s Journey

Hello Everyone! I am so glad a lot of you resonated with the first feature of my People Losing It Nigerian series. I know weightloss is something lots of people can actually relate to and I hope by doing this series, I can continue to prove to people that it's possible to lose weight on a Nigerian diet.

You do not have to starve, drink just smoothies or ditch carbs to lose weight. For sustainable weightloss, you first need to understand how to eat the things you love. It's not simply about portion control, it's about changing the way you cook,  utilizing the right types of ingredients that actually help you lose weight.

I do hope you read Biola's story and you are inspired that you also can achieve your weightloss goals.

Tell us a little about yourself

My name is Biola and I am married with 2 lovely kids, I live in London. I run a Balloon Art business called Partyheaven Party Solutions (@parttyheaven) - we focus on kids parties and all events that requires Balloons, Kids Entertainment and Party Funfoods.

Tell us about the journey that brought you this far

I was a very skinny tall girl who would eat anything and everything till I started having my babies and everything went south. I tried eating healthy and exercising after my second baby, it worked at first but then I stopped and just went back to my crappy eating lifestyle till about 2 years ago when the smoothie rave began, my smoothie journey never worked, because I was drinking smoothies as a snack lol..I never knew it was a meal on its own.

I also paid an health coach along the line and it was a useless investment. I knew I did not like how I looked, my stomach was huge due to fat and I was getting close to being obese.

Do you think it’s possible to lose weight on a Nigerian diet?

Yes!!! It is so possible. knowing what goes into your food, how to properly cook our  stews / soup, knowing how to calculate your macros and calorie content of Nigerian meals makes it all possible.

What has been your experience on Lose It Nigerian Program?

I can't scream it loud enough, Lose it Nigerian is the best thing that could ever happen to every Nigerian. It brings me so much joy recommending LIN to everyone I know. I have been able to develop recipes all because of what I have learnt from LIN. The knowledge I have gained from LIN is not a short lived one from a health coach, NO! It is a lifetime gain for a token.

How much weight have you lost on Lose It Nigerian?

I have lost 13kg so far.

What is the one advice you have for anyone on the weightloss journey?

  • Buy LIN
  • Eat LIN
  • Sleep LIN

Trust me it is the best thing I have bought in a long time. Weight loss is not something easy, but for me to have lost 13kg in 16 weeks eating what I love, I tell you can't go wrong doing it the right way.
